Recipe #1 - Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles

These wonderful cinnamon-sugar cookies became very popular with my friends at church. My pastor loves them! You will too! Crispy edges, and chewy centers; these cookies are a crowd pleaser for sure!

Time: 1 hr

Serves: 48

Ingredients Quantity
all purpose flour 2 2/3 cups
sugar 1 1/2 cups + 2 tbs, seperated
baking soda 1 tbs
salt 1/4 tsp
egg 2
shortening 1/2 cup
softened butter 1/2 cup
vanilla extract 2 tsp
cream of tartar 2 tsp
ground cinnamon 2 tbs

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). .

Step 2:Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls. .

Step 3: Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. .

Step 4: Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheets. .

Recipe #2 - Brownies

Brownies

WOW. These are great - fudgey, chocolately - everything I want in a brownie. This will be my new brownie recipe and it's so easy too!

Time: 1 hr

Serves: 16

Ingredients Quantity
eggs 2
sugar 1/2 cup
butter 2 tbs
water 2 tbs
semisweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 cups
vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
all-puepose flour 2/3 cup
baking soda 1/4 tsp

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch square pan. .

Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.

Step 3: Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not overbake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.

Recipe #3 - Peanut Butter Bars

A hit, a major hit. Our guests loved this, we loved this, my children asked me to make it again this week.

Time: 25 min

Serves: 6

Ingredients Quantity
melted butter 1 cup
powdered sugar 2 cups
graham cracker crumbs 2 cup2
peanut butter 1 cup and 4 tbs(seperated)
milk chocolate chips 1 1/2 cups

Step 1:In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, and 1 cup peanut butter until well blended. Press evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.

Step 2: In a metal bowl over simmering water, or in the microwave, melt the chocolate chips with the peanut butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Spread over the prepared crust. Refrigerate for at least one hour before cutting into squares.
